We are the hope as sons of God

In Romans 8:19 we read, “For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of ‘the sons of God. ‘ “ I believe that as “sons of God” we have been called to walk in authority on the earth, learn to steward the things of God and have dominion over them. Ruling and reigning .

When the apostle Paul speaks of the Kingdom of God, his emphasis is not only on the redemptive work of Christ, but also on the fact that in Christ, God reconciled the world. One definition of the word “reconcile “ is , “cause to coexist in harmony”. This is what God is essentially saying to us, that we use the authority in Christ we have been given and call back to order the things of the earth that have been subjected to disorder. The word “world “ in this context means Cosmos. The Cosmos/world and the things that are not in their intended order – now in Christ, is brought back to the original state of God’s design. This is why the work of Christ is so essential to our understanding of the heart of God: to understand that when things in life are not in His divine order, creation is groaning.

The purpose of Christ’s work on the cross was intended for more than just saving people; that’s only one aspect of the cross. Another aspect in relation to this, is in Psalm 24:1 where it declares, “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.” God’s heart shows that through the shed blood of his son, his sons and daughters use their authority to call back restorative order to everything in creation that was once subjected to the effects of the fall.
