We need divine revelation!

We need divine revelation!

Chapter 2 of the course “How To Hear God’s Voice”.

Introduction

We need to live with a supernatural understanding. God, as a good Father, desires to show us all things and has given us the Holy Spirit to teach us.

Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit and calls Him the Helper Who teaches us all things.

“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another a Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.” John. 14:16-17, 26.

The Holy Spirit is our Helper. He wants to teach and show us all things.

God desires to be a part of the issues of our life and help us to do it with His counsel and wisdom. We need revelation!

We need to seek communion with the Holy Spirit.

“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.”  2 Corinthians. 13:14.

1. Divine revelation teaches us what we cannot see or know.

God desires to give revelation so we won’t be deceived.  Not everything that we hear or appears to be, is the truth of things.

E.g. Joshua was taken by the appearances of the Gibeonites. Joshua 9:14. He did not seek the counsel of God. As a result he and his people suffered the consequences, as did subsequent generations.

God desires to show us the reality of things we are not able to see and know.

God desires to reveal the heart of the people to us.

E.g. Samuel was carried away by appearances when he went to the sons of Jesse. 1 Sam. 16:6,7.

E.g. In the Gospels we see that Jesus knew the hearts of men and their intentions.

“Now when He was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name, observing His signs which He was doing. 24 But Jesus, on His part, was not entrusting Himself to them, for He knew all men.” John. 2:23-24.

God desires to give us discernment and show us the heart of people so that we align ourselves with the right people so that others won’t deceive us or do us harm.

“Thus says the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker: Ask Me about the things to come concerning My sons, and you shall commit to Me the work of My hands.”  Isaiah 45:11

God desires to give us discernment and revelation to know the truth and the reality of things.

Jesus calls the Holy Spirit the “Spirit of Truth” who tells us the truth and reveals the lies of the “Father of Lies” whose intentions are to influence us negatively through his deception.

2. Revelation is “Updated” information.

Not all we know or hear is actual reality. God knows the past, the present, and the future. Many times God does things that we do not know and He updates us as to what He has been doing.

E.g. Saul (Paul) and Ananias, Acts 9:11-14.

God gave Ananias revelation with a lot of information.

We need detailed revelation!

Ananias had heard from many, but now God was giving him updated information. God knows the process, the particular series of actions or steps, that He has been talking with people.

E.g. The chick inside an egg.

We need up-to-date revelation!

Conclusion:

When we are guided by God, we walk in the truth and in the reality of things.

Goal:  “I will seek divine revelation to know the details of what to do, with whom, how to do it, and when.”
